The Bar & Billard Room-Mama's Farewell
Held Mama's farewell today and Ah Li Wee came! after not seeing her about 1 whole month-she has slim down! so my conclusion is that we eat too much at work! hahaha... she is still in pain... so poor thing...
We bought Mama's a Celine scarf that is silk on one side and cashmere on the other!! It costs us $430 ... haha.. which Boss had to pay the majority share of it! :P $80 only..not too much for boss lor.. haha... :P I love the scarf and it reallie suits Mama... totally her style! We love the leather gloves too but it is $550. Mindy bought a set of cook books for mama- reallie good coz it is foolproof (mama cannot cook).. haha...
Mama is going to Luxembourg with hubby and little mama in the middle of next month... hee.. he is reallie cute and shy! :) envy Mama-can be full time housewife cum tai tai. When will it be my turn?
Had a long 3 hours lunch at Raffles Hotel, The Bar and Billard Room... we had the choice of either going to The Line or Billard Room and most of us voted for this coz most of us have not been there before.
The selection is not as wide as The Line but I love the starters here... they have Kosh Kosh!! I love Kosh Kosh-had it for the first time at Femi's place and it was yummy.. maybe I was hungry and cold then.. (hmm Jili was still around then..rem keeping her warm n cosy inside my jacket during the ride home) :)
The almond and pumpkin salad, lobster pancake and lobster starter are equally yummy too... and they have the usual cold starters (oysters - which I never dare to try... prawns, sashimi etc). The main course theme is Mediterranean food... have many different kinds of meat hmm but the selection is not too impressive though.. haha... coz I am not reallie a meat person. But they have ratatouille!!
According to http://dictionary.reference.com : Ratatouille is a vegetable stew of Provence, typically consisting of eggplant, zucchini, onions, green peppers, tomatoes, and garlic, served hot or cold. ... hmmm... now I know.
Desserts are nice too.. but I think The Line's presentation of food is better than Billard Room ... but they dun have my fav bread and butter pudding... :( ...so no brownie points for both! Ha..:P

Blood Brothers
Went to catch this movie last Friday...hmm reason? coz got ShuQi n Daniel Wu? Eye candies!!
Some lines are rather crappy but she just burst out laughing at the most inappropriate times.. think some of the ah bengs in the cinema must be wanting to silence us ... ha..
Anywayz, overall, this is just a show w ShuQi (skimpily dressed!!) and Daniel Wu.. with lotsa of gun shots and killing pple to get to the top of the gangster world in old Shanghai... same old plot ..... with guys fighting over the girl... brothers turning against each other etc etc ...
Shows that I wanna catch next: Ratatouille, Home Song Stories, No reservations and 1408 :)

Cars
Went to the showroom with Cleo the last weekend. Cleo bought a Mitsubshi Lancer for 45k... monthly instalment is about $480 and insurance comes up to 1900 odd for her age group and half yr road tax free, upfront booking fee is about $3K.. plus she topped about 1.5k for the leather seats and sports rim. Manual though......This model is a rather old model but one of the cheapest among the ones we saw and like this weekend.
Vios is about 54K and Altis is about 59K. But Altis interior is ugly looking... so uncle.. coz it is brown interior.. yucks!!
Like the Subaru impreza - $54K for auto... but seems like it is high in fuel consumption so not efficient in cost saving esp in Jammy Singapore... and we live so far apart so not worth it to get one which is high in fuel consumption...
Maybe we can save another yr and get Honda Civic 1.6 - think it is about 65K .. hope it is more worth it.. did not go to the Honda showroom though... or Mazda? hmm so many choices-dun reallie know which one to pick. How? When is a good time to buy? hmmm

1 Year with Macquarie
Today marks the one yr I have joined Macquarie... whao.. time flies.. I rem the first day I was wondering how my colleagues will be and feeling rather worried and flustered coz I was a bit late. Den Ah Li Wee came to pick me on the 11th Floor and started introducing me to everyone.
During lunch, they all left me alone to eat by myself coz they had appointment and I rem telling myself "hmm...how nice" "roll eyes". Anyways, had lunch with KP pple and boss asked who I had lunch with... ha...
At about 4pm, I left work to go home to pick up my luggage before I head to the Airport to have my 2 weeks training in Hong Kong... very exciting.. First time to HK and had to figure out my way around... ha... it was rather fun... esp when everyone seems to be speaking in a strange language tt I tried so hard to listen to ... I think I am now better in Cantonese after the HK trip..haha...
HK is fun coz the shopping and food places close reallie late like abt 11 to 12... not like Singapore where places close at 9pm!!! Din reallie try the Tea House coz dun dare to go in.. had a lot of good food coz reimbursable ... :P wish I can charge my shopping to the company too...
Brought back a lot of bird nest mooncake and lao po bing...:) I went to Macau too and went to the casino and was apalled by the behaviour of some pple of some nationality.. :P so rude and yucky... Only dared to play the computerised roulette and jackpot coz I am afraid tt the pple will throw their cards on me.. :P
One year with Macquarie-I have completed my conversion course and delaying the CA Course till next yr coz Babe is coming back so thinking of spending more time together and it will prob be another rush to get the texts and stuff so delay it a bit. Laze around a bit more. :)
Other than tt, I knew a lot of new colleagues and had a lot of fun with all of them..they are a fun bunch to work with. Learnt a lot abt trading ledger and prob thinking what can I learn next?? :) exciting yr ahead... and when is bonus?? haha...

KTV @ Partyworld Shenton Way 17 Aug 07
Went for KTV after drinks w uncle simon... ha... he is back for holiday... n he has more hair! It is rumoured that u grow more hair after u leave KPMG ... that is why I need to rebond my hair.. haha!! :P
We had a theme KTV session... onli songs for Pamela's farewell are allowed... though some of them just sang songs they "feel like singing" .. haha... it was fun..with all the oldies... guess it will be a long long while before the group of us have another KTV session.... no one to organise the outings coz organizer is gone ... haha... :)

Food Places

Fireworks
Went to watch the fireworks w mummy today.. actually it was Cleo who wanted to go in the first place w Xin but Xin fell asleep so in the end onli me n mummy went... took the train w mummy n alighted at City Hall... n there are so so so many pple... so crowded... we decided on a good spot n luckily we have our Creative Zen Stone plus to entertain us while waiting for the fireworks to start... it was reallie beautiful.. took a video and some pics for u to see... the pics are terrible.. hard to take a nice photo of the fireworks... too bad u are not here... :)

Diaper Cake?!?!
Just saw a link on my google ad for this thingy called: Diaper Cake? What the...... is that? It looks like a normal cake at first glance.. but when u enlarge the picture, the whole cake is "made of diapers! ... gosh.. so amazing.. but it is a great gift for mummy and babies..it doesn't come cheap though.. about USD68 for a small size one... rather cute.. I wonder if we have this in Singapore...

Peri's Welcome lunch @ The Marmalade Pantry-Food was superb... Had the Spinach Salad and the Crab Meat Linguini ... Had a bite of the Ribeye Steak Sandwich which is equally Yummy...:) The Braised Lamb and Penne looks good too ya? Love the paper placemats... innovative... Nice place for lunch but atmosphere is onli alrite

Farewell @ Minbu Villa
Went to Pam's grandma's place today for the farewell gathering for Pam n Kev... Two lucky pple going away for secondment.. Pam is going to Virginia, US while Kev is going UK... will miss the two of u... :) Have a good secondment!
I made cheesecake for the gathering, Pam made her ching teng, while Kev made Popiah... my cheesecake turns out to be too frozen... coz I left it in the freezer the nite before (was afraid tt it will not solidify.... ha...) anyway, comments are tt it is too hard.. taste like agar-agar and not too bad... ha... the last one is added by moi... heehee... But afterwards when I brought the leftover home, it reallie does not taste as bad ... ha.. poor Kev had to eat 1 and 1/2 piece coz the he lost the Uno Stacko game.. :P .. it is not tt tt tt tt bad rite?
The rest bought foods; durian strudel (yucky), sotong balls, chicken wings, curry puff and polar stuff... :) It turns out to be Fed's bdae tomorrow!! so they bought a cake for him too.. so sweet... think Fed's bdae cake is hotter than my cheesecake.. so sad... :(
Love to play w boy-boy... he is so cute... love his little dimple n his long eye-lashes... even if he just had durian strudel... :P... shantel is too young to play but she looks very adorable in the big rocking chair... snapped a lot of pics of the babies ...think my parents took a pic of me in a rocking chair half naked when I was a baby.. wonder where is tt photo?.. :)

Maybe I was not part of wat u went thru for the last 18 months... it is true.. but u were also not part of wat I went thru the last 18 months... I had a new job, I went to HK and stuff happened to my family.. u were not here for me too... Yes, u had to face a new environment, a new culture, a new country and with Jili passing... and yes, I was not part of all tt ... but so weren't u...
Loving u is not easy... Getting u to love me is even more difficult...

Random Thoughts about You....
I love you, not only for what you are, But for what I am when I am with you.
Almost our 5 yrs anniversay, it is always so coincidental tt u are away on the day we met... for the third time now... is it fate that brought us together on tt day tt we met? ... or is it god's way of telling us to treasure each other coz it is not everyday tt we get to see each other?
I think i have grown stronger n more independent these 18 months... coz I learnt how to take care of myself again...before tt u have been always there helpin me along the way without me being aware of it.. now for these 18 months... I have learnt more about myself, you, my family...
I am happy coz u r coming back... but I wonder how it will be like... how will my days be? I cannot rem how is it like when u are in Singapore, I wonder how will I cope with work... I am anxious... n excited... I wish the day will come faster... :) been always thinkin of taking the plane ride w u back to Singapore ... it is reallie going to happen... I feel like I am in a dream...
